Employing Local At Minesite Recycling we prioritise employing residents of the communities we operate in, both in Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Leonora. In order to avoid using DIDO or FIFO in our Leonora yard, we work closely with the Waalitj Foundation to employ local CDP participants and utilise a diverse labour workforce that could potentially be ignored in favour of DIDO/FIFO. As at October 2021, we currently employ 5 yard hands through the CDP program, and are proud to have a 25% indigenous employment rate overall. Going forward we expect our Leonora facility to employee 15-20 people as we continue to expand.

Employing locally in Leonora means we’re keeping money in the community and providing new skills and training to those who otherwise might go without. We consider this initiative to be a worthwhile investment, as it aligns with our goal to develop our facility and operate for the long term.
